Church Buildings and Grounds 2009
Built in the shadow of Cam Peak, this Meeting house is certainly one of the oldest Nonconformist chapels in the district. It was erected about 1702, The first schoolroom was built in 1859, there being some 120 to 140 pupils, the addition of an upstairs floor to the schoolroom, giving space for 7 classrooms was erected in 1895 and built in brick. In 1995 these rooms where renovated and upgraded to a three bedroomed flat upstairs, plus new entrance, kitchen and toilets with improvements to the hall downstairs. The addition of a car park and driveway was a big asset in the way forward. The chapel interior was remodelled in 1999 with the pews removed and replaced with comfortable chairs, plus new décor and a portable stage donated by Cam Hopton School. In 2004 the stage was made permanent to accommodate an ever evolving style of worship.
